“To decide quickly as to the proper treatment of error–
whether error is manifested
in forms of sickness, sin, or death–
is the first step towards destroying error.”
Mary Baker Eddy
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (p. 463:21-24)
Is this not wise encouragement from the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science? “Decide quickly” is what Mary Baker Eddy gives us all as a loving watchword to guide our actions. The responsibility for the first step lies with each individual, but we are never alone as we “decide quickly.” As Mrs. Eddy also reminds us “Love inspires, illumines, designates and leads the way.” (Science & Health, p. 454:18-19)
Divine Love, God, supports us as we make choices. The perfect Love “that casts out fear” enables us to move spontaneously forward. Love’s still small voice impels us to face any fear, doubt or procrastination that would prevent our progress. Love casts it out, and moves us ahead with spiritual intuition and inspiration.
If the need is for Christian Science nursing assistance, one should “decide quickly.” Then High Ridge House stands ready to help. Whether it be home care by a Visiting Christian Science Nurse, a stay at the facility, rest and study or words of comfort and encouragement over the phone, an answer is at hand.
It is not urgency, but promptness, being “. . . instant in season, out of season . . .” (II Tim 4:2) that supports progress and healing.
In the words from a hymn in the Christian Science Hymnal Supplement, “God sets the pace. Always the same, with instant and eternal grace, God sets the pace.” (Christian Science Hymnal Supplement 461:4)
With gratitude and love from all of us,
